From: Robert McWhorter Sent: Saturday, October 28, 2006 9:50 AM Subject: She did it again!
Although several years have passed since
3red7s made the news for one of her escapades, I knew it was
inevitable that she would do it again! It was late in the evening
when I received a call from the authorities saying that they had
detained her because she had hit something and that she had
requested that they contact me. I thought, "Guess I need to bail
her out...Well, at least she didn't shoot anyone this time!" I was
pleased that she had used her one phone call to call me. In a short
while I was by her side and the authorities were just about through
processing the paperwork after having taken her mug shot. It turned
out that she had hit a jackpot on a $5 Triple Diamond Slot Machine
and had won $1800.00!
As you know, just before our Tahoe
adventure, (which we are still laughing and talking about), I had a
check-up where a lump in my neck was of concern to the doctor. The
plan was to take a round of antibiotics to see if it was just an
infected salivary gland. That is what I was doing at Tahoe. To
give you some idea of how our lives have been since Tahoe...........
Wed...Oct 11th...Visit with
family physician.....no change in node
Fri..... Oct 13th...CATSCAN at
local hospital
Tue.....Oct 17th...Results
back....inconclusive
Wed...Oct 18th...Visit with ENT
Doctor in Texarkana....recommended surgery on Mon...Oct 23rd to
remove
infected salivary gland
(We had planned on spending Friday and Saturday in Shreveport, but
since the surgery was scheduled for
Monday, we stayed thru Sunday since Shreveport much closer to Texarkana than Mena)
Fri, Sat, Sun...Oct 20,21, and
22........had a ball in Shreveport
Mon....Oct
23.....Surgery...removed, not a salivary gland, but a lymph
node..........tissue sent off for examination
Wed.. Oct 25....Results
back.....malignant squamous cell carcinoma.......recommended surgery
to remove all of
the lymph nodes in that area.
Fri.......Oct
27...Surgery....removed lymph nodes in neck......visual inspection
good.....tissue sent off for
examination ...awaiting results Tue...Oct 31 Halloween!
I feel good and do not have any
pain....neck a little sore, but that's all. I know you all have
been praying for me and we are most thankful to have your love and
support.
I will go back to work on Monday and we
will go on with our lives......we have too many adventures planned
with you guys to wimp out now.....and I have the knowledge that my
buddies, Johnny, Jimmy, Billy Joe, and others have fought this
battle and won.......I will too!
Thanks for the phone calls and the
precious e-mails that I have enjoyed since getting back home... You
are all the greatest. Of course, I will never forget the kind (and
some not so kind) words that you honored me with at Tahoe...
I have never experienced anything like that in my life....needless to say, you made my day!
Love to you all..............Robert and
LaVern
